Description
Procurement Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement strategies for steel and cement procurement that align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to secure optimal value and reliability.
Supplier Management & Negotiation:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, building strong vendor relationships for cost-effective and timely procurement.
- Negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with terms and quality standards.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Collaborate with finance and project teams to manage budgets, track expenditures, and find cost-saving opportunities.
- Regularly review material costs and proactively mitigate price fluctuations in the steel and cement markets.
Supply Chain Optimization:
- Oversee the full supply chain for timely delivery of materials, working with logistics and warehouse teams to optimize processes.
- Address supply chain disruptions quickly to avoid project delays.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure materials meet required quality standards and comply with procurement policies, regulations, and project specifications.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align procurement with project objectives.
- Report regularly to senior management on procurement performance and market conditions.
Risk Management:
- Develop contingency plans to manage risks and ensure continuous supply of critical materials.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Strong understanding of steel and cement market dynamics, including price fluctuations and quality standards.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on cost efficiency and problem-solving.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
Experience
7 – 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain, preferably in construction or engineering-related industries.
