Assistant Manager Finance – TCF UK

Timings: 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Financial Planning & Management

  • Assist the Finance Manager in preparing the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and management of external audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Support the Finance Manager with financial information and analysis when required.
  • Help improve overall cost efficiency, proactively monitoring costs and suggesting improvements where possible.

Financial Accounting

  • Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reports.
  • Ensure all transactions are accurately and appropriately recorded on the charity’s financial system (Xero), ensuring correct coding of income and expenditure and correct identification of restricted and unrestricted funds.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other control accounts.
  • Process invoices, payments and receipts in a timely manner.
  • Track expenses against approved budgets and report any variances.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with the timely submission of Gift Aid claims.
  • Prepare quarterly transfer allocations to TCF Pakistan.
  • Assist with any other finance-related tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Payroll

  • Assist in processing payroll and ensure timely payment of salaries and benefits.
  • Work with the Finance Manager and external payroll provider to manage monthly salary payments, PAYE, and pensions.

Required Skills

  • Willingness to work UK hours (1:00 – 8:00 Pm) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using online accounting software, ideally Xero, would be desirable.
  • Good knowledge of financial management practices, budgeting and reporting.
  • Highly organised and efficient.
  • Effective at managing a diverse workload through good time management and prioritising.
  • Conscientious, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and interact with colleagues in a helpful and supportive manner.
  • Ability to problem solve and work positively to deliver results.
  • Able to identify additional tasks that need to be done and work independently when required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field. While a professional qualification is desirable, it is not mandatory.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance role, preferably within the charity sector.
